Our corporate staff unit Exploration, Strategy & Business Development is now looking for change makers to meet this challenge. You will be a key player in our work with exploration, expansion in our mines, feasibility studies and reporting of exploration, mineral resources and reserves according to PERC. A challenging and exciting time lies ahead of us and we are now looking for people wanting to be part of our journey, and we want to recruit to the following positions:

- Senior resource geologist that can act as Competent Person on behalf of the company regarding the annual reporting of mineral resources according to PERC

- Senior mining engineer that can act as Competent Person on behalf of the company regarding the annual reporting of mineral reserves.

About the positions

As a senior resource geologist or senior mining engineer acting as Competent Person, you will be responsible for leading the work with annual reporting of exploration results, mineral resources and reserves within the company. You are also responsible for assisting in work aiming at developing the process and methodology for PERC reporting within the company.

You will have other colleagues with good competence and experience within the area by your side. You will also work closely together with colleagues in other parts of the company and you are expected to represent LKAB internally and externally. You will be based in Kiruna, Malmberget or Luleå, and travel will be a natural part of the job.

Your qualifications and skills

Senior Resource Geologist and Mining Engineer (Competent Persons)

For the role as acting Competent Person, you must have at least five years relevant experience in the style of mineralization or type of deposit under consideration and in the activity which you will be undertaking. You must also be authorized to act as Competent Person by a recognized professional organization. Since the Competent Person estimates or supervises the estimation of Mineral Resources or Mineral Reserves, your relevant experience must be in the estimation, assessment, evaluation and economic extraction of Mineral Resources or Mineral Reserves. The relevant experience must also be current and, where practical, continuous within the industry. It is presumed that you have a Master’s degree in Geology or Mining/Metallurgical Engineering or similar.

You are also interested in continuous improvements and development within the department. You demonstrate strong technical writing skills and have an ability to work independently and as a member of the team.
