Become one of our 20 International Trainees at Vattenfall. Each of the trainee positions is unique, linked to a department within a specific business area and a working location. This means that each position has its own specific responsibilities, challenges and matching profile.
Next to your personal development in this unique position you will be enjoying one year of all we have to offer. Your trainee year will be filled with meet-ups with your international trainee team with likeminded individuals. You will be meeting up virtually to work on assignments and live during four seminar weeks where you will be visiting our power plants and growing your superpowers with a variety of trainings.
Your role as a Trainee – Asset Optimization Hydro Power
Hydro Power delivers important functions as the enabler in a sustainable energy system. It is fossil free, flexible, fast and reliable. Hydro Power is also renewable energy on demand, with ancillary services to manage electricity usage and fluctuations.
Your daily activities:
• Working with colleagues from different parts of our business unit, continuous learning
• Keeping Hydro’s power plant portfolio optimized (investment and maintenance), work with optimization strategies based on requirements, benchmarks, risks, economy
• Analyse and prepare decision-material, including recommendations
• Asset analysis and tracking, including actions – in case of deviations.

As Trainee – Asset Optimization Hydro Power you recognize yourself in the following:
• Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management or (Civil) Engineering
• Merit with courses in optimization and risk assessment
• Strong analytical skills and ability to develop, visualize, and communicate concepts and ideas
• Team-player with a cooperative and encouraging mindset
• Result-oriented, ambitious, motivated to excel in your field.
You are our ideal trainee if you are a recent graduate with an academic degree or you graduate before September 2022. You are fluent in Swedish and English. You are willing to relocate for possible assignments throughout the organization. And of course, you identify yourself with our principles: active, open, positive and safe.
You will be working in department Project and Technology, and the position is located in Luleå, or Sundsvall, Sweden.

Selection period starts with the online tests in February followed by the interviews in March. An assessment is also part of the recruitment process and will take place in April.
