Become one of our 20 International Trainees at Vattenfall. Each of the trainee positions is unique, linked to a department within a specific business area and a working location. This means that each position has its own specific responsibilities, challenges and matching profile.

Next to your personal development in this unique position you will be enjoying one year of all we have to offer. Your trainee year will be filled with meet-ups with your international trainee team with likeminded individuals. You will be meeting up virtually to work on assignments and live during four seminar weeks where you will be visiting our power plants and growing your superpowers with a variety of trainings.

Your role as a Trainee – Asset Operations and Maintenance

Operations and maintenance aims to enable electrification by enabling the grid to connect twice as much by 2030 and halve the interruption time for a more secure and reliable electricity supply. In your role as a trainee within operations and maintenance you will have the opportunity to rotate around different areas within the department. You will widen your knowledge in the area and apply it in the business to help to fulfil our purpose.

Your daily activities:

• You will start within the Operation Center where you get insight into how operational monitoring and operational planning within the electricity network works
• Then you will continue working with planning of maintenance of high and low voltage substations, power lines and forest maintenance
• After that you will get to work as a contract manager for our service agreements within Vattenfall Distribution.
• Finally, you will work with an assignment within strategic analysis of operation and maintenance support, where you can use innovative ideas for how operation and maintenance can be improved in a longer perspective for example.

As a Trainee – Asset Operations and Maintenance you recognize yourself in the following:

• Master of Engineering or equivalent academic education
• Demonstrated interest in operations and maintenance
• You are curious about the different areas within Operations and Maintenance but in the long run you are eager to specialize in a certain area.
• A willingness to travel, e.g. to our various locations in Sweden

You are our ideal trainee if you are a recent graduate with an academic degree or you graduate before September 2022. You are fluent in Swedish and English. Skills in other world languages can be a merit. You are willing to relocate for possible assignments throughout the organization. And of course, you identify yourself with our principles: active, open, positive and safe.

Location:

You will be working in the department Asset Operations and Maintenance and the position is located in Solna, Trollhättan or Luleå in Sweden.

Selection period starts with the online tests in February and followed by the interviews in March. An assessment is also part of the recruitment process and will take place in April. The recruitment process will be finalized around the end of April. The last step will be a pre-employment screening. Starting date of the Vattenfall International Trainee Programme will be September 1st 2022.
