The Northern Mine Mining Planning section, NGG, houses operations for Geology, Diamond Drilling, Rock Mechanics, Mining and Mining Planning; workplaces that in unison are responsible for the mine’s continuous mining plans. We create and develop our Mineral Reserve, which is the basis for a strong Life of Mine Plan in Kiruna. With us at NGG, you are an important part of the mine’s continuous development and are surrounded by competent and innovative employees who jointly create the conditions for resource-efficient and sustainable mining.

The Mining Geology workplace is responsible for developing and managing the mine’s mineral resources. Here you will find a small working group with specialized and competent employees who together are responsible for the operational and strategic geological data. Our working group works with operational, structural and geotechnical geology as well as infill drilling and drill core mapping. We are broadly responsible for the geological issues close to the mine and work closely with the section and the mine’s other workplaces – all to secure the mine of the future in Kiruna.

At the workplace we work to create new standardized working methods and tools, where we want you as a manager to be involved and contribute.

About the role

As a group manager, you lead your team of geologists and enable their work performance and development. Here you have a central role in realizing our vision of an inclusive and sustainable work climate for our employees. To help you, you have the management team for NGG and your management colleagues, your immediate manager and support contacts for work environment, finance and HR.

The work as a group manager includes staff development, work environment and financial results follow-up for your workplace, you work goal-oriented and coaching with your employees according to LKAB’s values. We also see you as a responsive and world-leading leader who brings you innovation and new solutions both internally and externally. You have an ability to create and maintain good contacts with expert bodies in production, internal research and universities.

Your qualifications

We are looking for a person who have good leadership qualities, which for us means a relationship-oriented approach with a focus on your employees and their development potential. You see the value of working together to achieve set goals and have the ability to create team spirit and engage your colleagues and employees.

You are structured to your way of working and willing to learn and deepen your knowledge in the business we conduct. You are easy to get in touch with and create good relationships with colleagues and employees.

To be relevant in the role of Group Manager, you must have a few years of experience in the mining industry and we are happy to see that you also have experience as a leader. Merit is insight into and experience of geology, follow-up of results and improvement work as well as mining knowledge.

You have completed academic education and preferably in geology, mining technology or similar specialization and driving license.
