Presentation:

Our mission is to accelerate de-carbonization of hard-to-abate industries, starting with steel.

To do this, we need to break new ground. By combining leading expertise and new technology with clean energy, we are on a path to take global leadership within green hydrogen, enabling us to transform steelmaking and other sectors. Changing an industry is not a small task, but we know it’s possible, and necessary, for our customers, society, and our planet.

Things are moving fast, and we are accelerating. At the beginning of 2020, we announced our plans to make the steel industry fossil-free, in 2022 we broke ground, and in 2023 we finalized one of Europe’s largest private investment rounds and started to scale up construction.

We are building diverse, dynamic, and driven teams. We look for ambitious individuals from all disciplines, sharing our vision of cutting CO2 emissions down to zero. As a team, we innovate, collaborate, and enjoy the ride.

About the role

Our first Hydrogen based steel project in Boden is broken down into 4 areas: Hydrogen manufacturing, Iron making (DRI), Steel making, as well as Site Infrastructure and utilities.

As Construction Interface Manager, you will report directly to the Head of Site Execution of the Boden project. Your main responsibility is to oversee the systematic identification, monitoring & management of all construction interfaces and handovers on the Boden project site. Your primary objectives will be to prevent delays, cost overruns, engineering variations, claims, and system/ product failures. Including the mitigation of interface-related risk by recording and tracking interfaces to communicate and facilitate alignment between all construction participants on the Boden project site.

In addition to managing construction interfaces on the Boden project site, you will develop H2GS' ability to construct projects in a way that competes on a global scale. You will be seen as an expert in project delivery within your area and will develop your cross-functional team accordingly. To optimize the site construction effort, you will work in a matrix structure in close cooperation with the rest of the H2GS Site Execution, Project Management, Project Controls, and Engineering functions and specifically the H2GS Design Coordination & Interface Manager.

The role is site-based and full-time in Boden, Sweden.

Responsibilities:

· Ensure proper identification of all internal and external physical construction interfaces, incl. handovers between trades and/or contractors and information interfaces.

· Define all construction interface requirements including needs and constraints imposed across interface boundaries.

· Work closely with EPCMs who should verify and validate the identification of all construction interfaces.

· Develop construction interface requirements specifications (IRSs) as definitive reference for interface attributes.

· Develop construction detail interface requirements (DIRs) as required (especially for more complex functional interfaces).

· Develop construction interface control documents (ICDs), formalizing agreements between interfacing parties.

· Develop and maintain a construction interface issue and action tracker (incl. interface document status tracking).

· Develop, maintain, analyse and communicate area-, scope- and trade-based construction interface registers.

· Develop & maintain an overall master register for all construction interfaces and record/ report interface completion statuses.

· Ensure proper and formalized management of changes to IRSs, ICDS, and DIRs (where used.

· Ensure queries/ requests-for-information from interfacing parties on site are formally tracked, managed and actioned expeditiously (and escalated as required).

· Establish a construction interface matrix (e.g., RACI, LACTI) defining the responsibilities of interfacing parties (by area, scope, and trade).

· Establish and chair regular formalized construction interface meetings between all construction interfacing parties on site.

· Develop KPIs providing insight and foresight on construction interface control and progress vs. schedule, including contractor performance.

· Develop and maintain an overall construction-specific vulnerability and opportunity register and ensure mitigation plans are created, assigned to responsible parties, implemented and closed.

· Ensure, foster and drive cross-functional collaboration between H2GS functions, EPCMs and construction contractors on site.

· Support the identification and management of EHS interfaces between different contractors.

· Build healthy relationships and resolve conflicts within construction and functional teams.

· Contribute to ways-of-work and continuous improvement initiatives as part of the H2GS Project Operating Model efforts.

· Ensure pro-active alignment with the project controls function that provides progress information.

Qualifications

· Minimum 25 years industry experience, of which at least 15 years with hands-on project leadership experience in demanding industrial environment (e.g. Steel, Oil & gas, Manufacturing, Mining)

· Relevant formal education and trade certifications, coupled with a track record as a manager driving complex projects in construction execution, are required.
