Presentation:
Company: Aerobase is an SME developing advanced material models and simulation technologies for sustainable manufacturing, especially additive manufacturing, and using recycled materials, with a strong focus on innovation and EU collaborations.
Overview: We’re seeking an AI/Research Engineer specializing in agentic LLM systems to build next-generation “AI copilots” for our simulation and material-modeling workflows. This role connects autonomous AI agents (plan, reason, act) with our FEM/CFD/AM technology stack—from data acquisition and RAG to running experiments and generating reports. The ideal candidate has proven experience with agent frameworks, tool/API integration, and multi-agent coordination.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement agents that plan and orchestrate simulations (e.g., run batches, vary parameters, initiate post-processing) across our internal compute environments.
- Build tool/API adapters to simulation codes and data stores.
- Develop RAG/embedding pipelines for technical reports, material datasheets, standards, and codebases, ensuring traceability and source attribution.
- Create multi-agent workflows (e.g., planner–executor–critic) for robust problem solving, hyperparameter/design-space search, and quality assurance.
- Establish evaluations/testing for agent reliability (safety checks, regression tests, hallucination tests, latency/cost).
- Collaborate with materials and AM specialists to align AI insights with thermal/mechanical models, process optimization, and sustainability goals.
- Communicate results via technical reports and demo apps; contribute to proposals/applications in EU projects.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with agentic frameworks, Reason-and-Act/CoT, tool integration, and knowledge-based methods (ontologies/knowledge graphs).
- Strong Python background and experience building robust services/pipelines (testing, logging, error handling).
- Bonus: links to FEM/CFD/AM and multiphysics (melt pools, process/material models).
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working in cross-functional teams.
How to apply: Send your CV, a short cover letter, and relevant materials (e.g., publications, demo links, code samples). Use the subject “AI Agent Engineer – Aerobase”.
