There are plenty of positive things happening in Piteå. The population is increasing, the city centre is evolving and several interesting development projects are underway. We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to building the Piteå of the future. As an employee in Piteå municipality, you will have roughly 4,000 colleagues. Colleagues who are working every day to make a difference to the everyday lives of the residents of Piteå and to deliver the service they are entitled to in a professional and genial manner. We hope you’d like to become one of the team in Piteå municipality!
The administration Samhällsbyggnad works to ensure an attractive and sustainable society for residents, visitors and businesses. Our mission and our activities are influenced by investments to meet the future growth in the region. There are approximately 200 employees within community planning and competence provision. Just over half of the employees work at the activity-based Stadsporten in the heart of Piteå. It’s a modern workplace where competence and cooperation form an important foundation for job satisfaction and good results. Stadsporten also accommodates our management staff, who are responsible for administration-wide development, management and governance issues. In order to develop efficiency, flexibility and follow developments, the digitalisation of our processes is a key factor. The management staff includes specialists and the IT strategist is one of the roles needed to continue driving forward IT-related development issues.
As an IT strategist at Samhällsbyggnad, you will manage and develop the administration's digitalisation work. You are also our representative for the digitalisation work shared with the municipality.
Together with others on the management staff, you are responsible for understanding needs and seeing improvement opportunities where digitalisation could be beneficial. An important part of the work is environmental monitoring linked to systems and technology within the activities of Samhällsbyggnad. You will participate in requirements work, procurement and orders in the field of IT/digitalisation in close contact with external suppliers.
To be able to carry out the work, you should be proactive and see things from a holistic perspective, be able to supervise and inspire employees and have the ability to familiarise yourself with and understand our activities. Your skills should, after a period of time, be able to encompass many different activities and areas of legislation. You will need to acquire broad general knowledge of Samhällsbyggnad in order to understand the challenges and couple this to development opportunities based on your specialist area. The role requires contact and collaboration both with other units within Piteå municipality and external collaboration partners. You will need to be comfortable working as both a generalist and a specialist. A specialist in IT matters, but a generalist when it comes to the activities of Samhällsbyggnad.
You hold an academic degree in systems science or equivalent. You have several years' experience of working within a large organisation. You have experience of working with digital development at a strategic level, can perform needs and requirements analyses and have a knowledge of IT systems and architecture. Previous experience with change management and implementing competence-enhancing initiatives is desirable. You have a good knowledge of O365 and the Microsoft Power Platform and an interest in AI-related development issues.
As a person, you are self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to problem-solve analytically. You find it both easy to collaborate and to familiarise yourself with and understand the activities and how digitalisation influences working methods. The role requires many internal and external contacts, which requires you to be a good communicator, both verbally and in writing.
