Process & Technology Manager

Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership & Development – Lead, motivate, and develop a skilled Process team, ensuring succession planning and diversity. Provide training and mentorship to engineers and operations staff.
• Process Design & Optimization – Oversee the design, safety, and efficiency of Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) plants, ensuring accuracy in process diagrams (PFDs, P&IDs) and material utilization models.
• Technology & Supplier Evaluation – Assess and develop alternative ironmaking technologies and suppliers to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Operational Excellence – Identify and implement process improvements, develop operating standards for new plants and equipment, and participate in plant start-ups and troubleshooting.
• Quality & Continuous Improvement – Implement Quality Assurance processes, integrate new technologies, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and resource optimization.
• Maintenance & Reliability – Plan and oversee preventive maintenance, develop long-term maintenance strategies, and align maintenance activities with plant performance goals.
• Regulatory Compliance & Safety – Ensure adherence to industry regulations, safety protocols, and engineering standards while integrating process safety into plant operations and design.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering with strong process knowledge in DRI technology, metallurgy, thermodynamics, kinetics, and fluid dynamics.
• Industry & Leadership Experience – Extensive leadership experience in high-demand industrial environments, preferably in HBI/HDRI production, greenfield projects, startups, or commissioning.
• Familiarity with industry regulations and ISO systems (9001/14001/45001), ensuring compliance and process optimization.
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities and exemplary technical writing skills.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with fluency in English; basic Swedish is an advantage.
